Hi there, I hope someone can help. We have exchanged and are due to complete next week. The mortgage is for 70% value and to get a particular deal our broker advised that we would need to put in an additional £7k of our own money. However when I got our financial statement late on Friday, our solicitor advises that the shortfall is actually closer to £18k! Our mortgage broker is not returning my calls.
When I mentioned that we would pay some of this by money gifted from family, our solicitor advised that he must declare it to our lender who may reconsider the offer. We have also taken a further advance on our credit cards, we didn't know that this could also affect our offer.
What can we do? I'm beside myself with worry.
