Mortgage advisor/broker?

FTB so don't know much!

Can anyone advise what the benefits are, or how it is different to go to a mortgage broker/advisor rather than looking on the internet for mortgages? Have been looking at sites like money.co.uk and money supermarket so just wondering what I would find different mortgage wise by going to an advisor?
