Hi all,
Thanks all for your advice on a previous thread - that particular worry is now sorted as credit history is now showing 'good'.
Not that that stops me worrying entirely about our mortgage application (submitted yesterday in paper form to Nationwide)!.
Worries include:
- My husband is 50 (I am 31), which means the term of the mortgage will take us into his retirement age. This should not be a problem as, being a Financial Advisor, he has all sorts of investments up his sleeve for his nest egg, and also has a £300,000 property in trust to him which he (as an only child) will inherit when his mum dies. He has put this on the application form, and is able to provide pension etc forecasts on request. But I am still worried this will be a sticking point...
- I only returned to the UK after 5 years abroad (working for my current company) in Jan 2011. Not sure if they will get iffy about this...? Am British and was working within EU - have all appropriate paperwork to back this up.
- Last month, as a one-off, I was about £100 overdrawn (as in -£100, not £100 in excess of my overdraft limit of -£1000, which I have never even come close to!). Not characteristic of my overall account activity, but still worried it will flag up on their end...
Does anyone have any thoughts on whether any of the above could potentially prejudice our application...?
Thanks!
Miss Merlot
