Hello,
I'm new here but my Mum is a huge fan of MSE.
I am looking to arrange a mortgage. I'm a FTB with 25% deposit. My credit history is fine, but I have a problem.
I've always kept my bank accounts, mobile phone, etc registered at my parents address (seen as my 'permanent address') since I was a student, as it seemed easier that way (moving every year with job) and I was advised that it'd be better for my credit history. However, I now run into trouble when trying to arrange a mortgage as if they search where I have actually been living (which I see as 'temporary addresses'), nothing comes up (as I didn't have anything financial registered there.) It's not a bad score - it's a score that doesn't exist. Without a credit score, I can't get a mortgage, but my credit score at my 'permanent' address is fine.
Any ideas as to ways around this? Should I even mention the temporary addresses at all?
Thanks for your help.
