Halifax Valuation

Hi everyone, first post so apologies if I have the wromg forum :) We have just paid for a valuation as part of our mortgage application, and the valuer has stated that they cannot offer a valuation until they have seen a full structural engineers report. The reason for this is that there are 'signs of structural movement'. The structural engineer has advised that the movement appears to be historic and that repairs to cavity wall ties are adviseable (as would be expected with a 1930s semi). Does anyone have any experience of this kind of situation, and can offer any insight as to whether our application is likely to get any further? Thank you
