I am currently going through a divorce. My husband has agreed for me to keep the house if I can take on the mortgage. My problem is that although I can afford the repayments I am struggling to find a lender who will set this up as my income comes from child tax credit, an honorarium payment from my local church and maintenance from my husband which has yet to be confirmed through the courts but to which my husband has agreed and paid the first monthly payment. Does anybody have advice as to how I can take on the mortgage? I am currently looking for a job but my husband wants releasing from the mortgage asap
