Hi All
We have always paid our mortgage on time by direct debit and have made overpayments since coming out of our fixed period in April.
To my horror yesterday we received a long formal letter from BoS saying that we were in arrears by £250. I immediately checked online banking and saw that this months mortgage payment had come out as it always does. So where we had made an overpayment and decreased our term BoS haven't changed our direct debit to take the extra funds for the increased payment and now they've said we're in arrears.
I rang them and the lady I spoke to said she could see from our account it was down to them not changing the direct debit and that someone will investigate and call me by the middle of next week. Is this acceptable? Does anyone know if this will affect our credit rating? We hope not as we're desperately saving to move.
Thanks.
