Hi All,
This is the first time I'm posting on any forum, so I hoping it may help.
Just over 4 years ago I found myself 2 months in arreas with my mortgage. After speaking to the mortgage provider I was under the impression we had agreed the arreas on the mortgage would be added to the full amount and I increase the monthly payments slightly to ensure the term of the mortgage remaind the same.
2 years after this I decided to check my credit rating online. After filling all the relevent information I proceded to look into my borrowing history. The arreas on my mortgage had not been added on the the full amount and still showed as arreas for 2 years! When I spoke to the mortgage provider they had no record of this. I paid the arreas off there and then in full (as I was in a much better financial place, and would have a lot soon had I known) When I questioned them on no letters stating I was in arreas, they informed me that as I had an agreement with them to increase my payment each month they were happy with the arrangement.
This had a detrimental affect on my credit rating, at this point my score was 273. I have worked hard for the last 2 years to put this right. All accounts are up to date and I have a score of 968.
My self and my husband are now looking to move, however I do not want to try and get a mortgage if I am going to be truned down (this knock points off every time a search is done) as I will be back to square one before I know it.
Can anyone recomend a mortgage company that will lend looking at the last 2 year of my credit history.
Sorry it is a bit long winded, I felt I needed to give the full picture in order to get as much help in this matter as possible.
thanks in advance for any tips or advice.
