Right so I never thought I'd want to get a mortgage but now I have change my mind. We currently are saving for a holiday so can't start saving till September 2013.
My mum has said they help us but not with much (don't know how much yet) and we are looking to more areas in 2015 originally to rent first but to buy if at all possible, unfortunately I think we could only realistically save £10k.
Flat prices are 90k-130k ish. Nationwide calculator says on a £21k wage I could get up to 115k mortgage but would need a £13k deposit. Highly likely we are looking to need a much higher deposit.
I am thinking of moving into rental in the new area in 2015/16 and continue to save for a few more years. My defaults wont have dropped off by then anyways, think latest is 2018.
