Morning All,
My husband and I are currently in the process of buying a house/applying for a mortgage. We decided to follow the advice on here and use L&C as are Brokers who gave us a decision in principle. Since we have had an offer accepted on a house and applied for a mortgage recommended by L&C with Platform.
As we are expecting our first child in the not too distant future and as I am currently earning very little we applied for the mortgage based on my Husbands income alone.
To date we have supplied them with every piece of documentation they required and they have completed their valuation survey, Although this has all taken 3 weeks they have been no major issues until now... Platform have requested proof of how I will pay the mortgage payments!?! (eg other savings etc) I really don't understand why they are asking for this given that my husbands wage more than covers all outgoings including the mortgage.
Unfortunately both our case manager and mortgage advisor are now not in until Monday and I am extremely stressed . Can anyone advise me on why they might be asking this? I am hoping they just have their wires crossed...
