Hi guys,
My friend and I want to apply for a joint mortgage but my friend has a UK issued Travel Document together with a Biometric Residence permit(BRP). He is a non-eu national. A few months ago, the bank refused to accept the travel document and BRP as proof of ID for a credit card. He sent the BRP to the DVLA for a driving license and it was accepted and he now has a provisional driving License. When he took the Driving License to the bank as proof of ID for the same credit card, it was accepted and he got the credit card.
So, I was just wondering if lenders would accept his travel document as ID proof or if only his provisional driving license is enough as proof of ID to apply for a mortgage.
Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
