We pay our mortgage by standing order which is our normal monthly payment and extra to overpay. The letter re the changes just told us to continue to make our payments as normal but to quote our new mortgage no on payments - it did not say that we had to amend the sort code and account no for the payment.
I phoned to double check what I should be doing and was told that I should be using the sort code & ac no in the booklet (under the heading overpayments!!)
I asked for written confirmation of this and complained that the letter was poor and that I was not given the information I needed.
Set up the SO but sent a £10 payment to make sure it was ok as I was a bit worried . The £10 payment is not showing on my online banking but did show up on an enquiry made in the branch so I sent the remainder of my payment by standing order , now when I have checked online the £10 is still missing although the money sent after shows but worst of all the balance on my mortgage appears to have increased by £600 which is the total of the 2 payments.
