Help please! Applying for a mortgage - Credit report & Maiden Name

Hi All

I have searched the forums and can't find any other thread which answers my quesion so hoping someone may be able to help.

I am about to apply for a mortgage as a first time buyer and as per the general advice I thought I would have a quick look at my credit report before applying. I got married last September and have changed my name on all of my accounts (although I realised I hadn't changed the elctoral role so have applied for this change which will take affect in June) However my credit report has come back and although it is saying my score is excellent it only shows 3 things and states that I could improve by registering on the electoral role. They didn't ask for my maiden name and it appears that they haven't automatically linked me to it either when searching so its not showing all of my present and historical credit information (I would be on electoral register under maiden name)

So.... 2 questions really

1. Should I delay the application to get an alias added to my report to show full history or having given the mortgage provider my married and maiden name will this return full history to them on their search anyway?

2. Does it matter that when application is submitted that my maiden name is still appearing on the electoral role and not my married or will it look to the lender like I am not registered at all and should I therefore wait until June for the next register update?

Sorry its a bit of a long post!

Thanks for your help.

Nikki
