hello. myself & my husband have been told by Santander we can can't borrow any more for work on our house. We have a mortgage with them for £107k which we have been paying since 2007, we have £80k left to pay but want to borrow £30 more to do a loft conversion on our house. The house is worth £180k.
hubby earns £26500, basic, allowances & o/t £6k+ & second job £7K
I'm self employed & have 2 years accounts, first year -£700 2nd year +£4900.
Santander have said we don't even qualify for the amount we do pay?
We have an appointment to see Nationwide, anyone know if we stand a chance with them?
Santander would only take half his o/t Allowances & half his 2nd income & only half of mine??
