Hello all,
I am hoping that you could help me with a question I have on the Nationwide Save to Buy savings account and mortgage.
I am a FTB. My partner is not. He is not a homeowner, but sold his house (and repaid the related mortgage) about one year ago.
For this reason, he is does not have FTB status in the eyes of Nationwide (I noted that some banks consider FTBs as a person who has not had a mortgage in 12 months, but for Nationwide it is 36). The Save to Buy account is also available to Home Movers, being "someone who is moving home and has an existing mortgage that must be repaid on completion of the Save to Buy mortgage."
My question is, could we open a joint account and apply for a FTB mortgage together, because of my status, or is this some sort of limbo that has not been thought through?
Thank you
