Due to a change in circumstances and a family health issue, we are considering options for the immediate - short term future.
We may need to move in with family miles away from our home to help care for someone but we don't want to sell our house as we don't yet know what the future holds or how long we may need to be away for. Presently we're loosely planning for 2-3 years. After that we will probably need to live in our own place again.
Our mortgage is with ING on a low tracker rate we've had for years. I was under the impression ING were a company who would not grant consent to let and if you wanted to let then you had to remortgage with someone else. Since ING have been taken over by Barclays, I wondered if this had changed? I know I could phone them but it's just easier asking here for now. Obviously if no-one has any experience of this then I'll need to call them later but no harm in asking here in the meantime. I know there's a lot of knowledgeable people here.
We wouldn't get a new mortgage right now as my husband's work is a bit erratic and he'd doing temp agency work here and there. So until he can find a new full time permanent job, we can't remortgage to a buy to let.
