Hi, we have bad credit and are trying to get a new mortgage so we can downsize from a house worth 260k, with a mortgage of 170k, to one worth £160k, with a mortgage of around £100k.
London and County said no. Is it worth asking our current lenders (who dont know about the bad credit as it occurred after we got our current mortage)?
Similarly, should we try other brokers? Any suggestions? We are both good earners and although partners credit is pretty much blown, mine only has one credit card which I have defaulted on. We have made an informal arrangement with all our creditors and are paying off the debts through regular monthly repayments.
Any advice welcome.
