mortgage saga almost over. last bit of help

Hello all,

my mortgage has been approved on the basis that i clear the £2500 off my barclaycard on completion. i take it i have around 6 weeks ish to do so. this is mainly to do with the affordability as i have gone in as a single applicatant due to lloyds messing up my wifes credit rating(which lloyds are sorting).

i just dont know how to clear this before completion. my wife does have an rbs credit card which is empty and has a limit of £3000 so would it work if she transfered the balance from my card to hers and then once i have the keys to the house and all is well transfer it back.

the other thing i was thinking is my father in law was going to help us with renovations as the house does need a bit so the other plan was to clear the balance with the cash and then when we do the renovations put it back on my credit card so basically all will be the same.

i know this isnt idea but i just need a way to have this £2500 disapear for a week or so and just not sure how. i hope you can help.
