Looking for some help. I was talked into a interest only mortgage when i came in for an capital and interest one. I was looking for a 25 year one. I was given a 3 yr fixed rate mortgage and could come in after that term to change over. It even says that i wanted this in the mortgage recommendation When it came to the 3 yr fixed rate were over, i went in and was told we were not in a rush and could take our time to look at other options. As we would be switching over our mortgage we would not have to pay any further fees. Then a letter came advising we were due to repay the whole mortgage amount back as we only had a mortgage for 3 1/2 years!!! we were never told this, as all it says it the mortgage recommendation a 3 yr fixed rate term. As we had to take out a new mortgage we had to pay out all new fees again. We put in a complaint and the result was that as a gesture of goodwill for the distress and inconvenience we have caused they offered us £100. We didn't agree to this and we wanted to take it up to the financial ombudsman service. As we have been sorting out our current mortgage . Now we are ready to take it further but just read that we had 6 months to take it further form the date of their letter. It has now been 9 months can we still take it further?
Thanks Danielle
