Possible Scenario

Hi All

This is likely to be our situation before too long (almsot certainly by end of 2013)

100k cash sum
Mortagage to be required in the region of 90k maximum

My credit reports showing reasonable , no late payments or defaults

My salary 26500

I owe 500 on a natwest CC , pay £30 or thereabouts a month

Bank with Natwest , have savings of 4k , been with them 8 years or so including current account with salary paid in to it

My wifes credit - terrible to be honest , defaulted credit card account .

I would apply on my own back , i know she would be then classed as a dependant along with two kiddies.

Never had a mortgage before so keen to get to grips with it all so that i do it best way, first time...

I suppose my first question , is , would my best bet , come , through going direct to Natwest for a discussion , and would my deposit help with A) my wifes poor credit history and B) A decent deal....

Obviously i want to avoid paying a broker if i can help it , but am open to being told why i SHOULD consider a broker ?

Cheers
