Me and my partner are trying to get a morgage. he was made bankrupt 5 years 2 months ago and discharged from bankrupcy 4 years 2 months ago. we would like a house worth around 135000 and currently have 10% deposit. my credit score is brilliant and my partners in good. since being made bankrupt he kept to his payments and always paid on time. we have also both been on a electroll roll at our rented adress for 5 years now. neither of us have any outstanding debt.
I am permantly contracted and earn 14000 a year
he is also permantly contracted and earns 19000 a year. we have had quotes so the earning doesnt seem to be a problem, but we did apply 8 months ago and got turned down.
Is a 10% deposit to low in our situation? and what are the best companys for a morgage after being bankrupt?
